I've asked this about Flutter apps a while back, but this is about
general Android apps. Some of my installed apps read notifications as
they arrive (I.e. Signal.) Others don't. How do I modify an app from the
latter category to be in the former?

I'm trying to get RiotX (https://github.com/vector-im/riotX-android)
reading incoming messages. Nothing I've done has succeeded. I have a
local build that sets tickerText, but that's not doing it. The
notification system has gotten much more complicated since last I
checked, and if there's a section on accessible notifications in the
docs then I haven't found it. Would very much appreciate some help.

Thanks.

Hi Nolan

I'm forwarding your message to the ice-free developer group

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you

Maybe if you share the Android version you're using someone on the list can help

I wasn't sure if you were looking for a user documentation or developer documentation...

Russ
