Programmatically mute/unmute Talkback?

Hi All,

I want to programmatically mute/unmute Talkback (and Spiel or any
other running screen reader) within my app while speaking text in
different languages. How do I do that?

I can on-the-fly change the language of my self-voicing app, including
the choice of TTS engine, but Talkback keeps chatting in the language
of the phone's locale setting when I suppress self-voicing to prevent
double-talk. So I need to apply self-voicing in those cases and be
able to suppress Talkback speech. How?

I need to program something similar. I'm developing an aplication for the visual impaired.

As I'm using TTS, i want to disable all TalkBack notifications. I've read a lot of post, but nothing seems to work. 

I know that this post is old, but did you find the way ?
