Can anyone suggest ways in which we can reduce the
scourge of noisy cars driven, usually too fast, through the centre of Eye at all
times of the day and night?

Graham: Yes, I think a lot of us would like to see a solution to this
problem. I believe there is a way that private individuals can use an
official hand-held speed check device and inform the police of
speedsters. I could be interested in helping out. Does anyone know
much about this?

Mr Reardon/ Mr Seaman,
There is a system running for individuals to use hand held speed guns,
however it is usually carried out in partnership with one or two other
Parishes or Towns. The objective being that Citizens would not police
their own Parish/Town in case of local reprisals. My understanding is
that three people are required to carry out such an exercise. If you
were to contact Sergeant John Eaves of the Mid Suffolk Safer
Neighbourhood Team, I believe he would have be able to help you
further.
