I tried setting up the EY Slice.. got the image playing with VMware
player... noted my usernames etc, logged in and at a command prompt.

edited the etc/host, added a new entry of the ip address it gave me on
boot.. as per this article

http://salesforceonrails.com/2008/engine-yard-express-a-production-slice-on-your-macbook-pro

but outside of this image, i cant connect to the ip.. mine happens to
be 192.168.111.129.

I tried port 80 and 81...

anyone have any ideas?

Also via Windows, what is the best way to SSH into the slice after I
get this working?

First you must use a ssh program like Putty under windows. that port
is 22, or what ever else you may have changed it to.
Second, the IP you have there is for inside the network, you have to
configure your router and use you external ip for access outside.

I hope that helps.
