"Unboxing" and Initial impressions posted. Didn't do the typical unboxing or photos of the bag; I tried to make it a little different and went down an assessment of details about the bag and comparison against the website feature list. I did this because it is the type of thing I would do if I was standing in a store trying to evaluate if I was going to buy a bag.
My Callaway bag has a pocket behind the side padding that rests on your back when carrying and like you said can become extra padding. The Ghost bag doesn't have a pocket like that and it came in one of the side pockets. May not be a problem for me since I keep the rain hood on all the time and close it up when I am transporting the bag. My only concern is that since it is thicker it may not fold down as easily when I put it on the pull or driving cart.
Great unboxing post. Eagerly awaiting your thoughts on storage with everything you listed. On a side note, was the pen that came with the bag in good condition? Mine was dried out and never worked. Not much of a big deal, just curious.
Hope these help; cant get outside today since it is raining. Left is with the rain hood zipped and right is how I will most likely leverage the rain hood. I typically have the rain hood on the clubs all the time and just fold it down when I get to the course. I think it goes well and looks nice with the Oreo colorway.
Thanks. The white and how easily cleaned as well as how well it holds its color will definitely be a focus as this review goes along and into the future. Would be a nice touch if they had some cleaning recommendations in the bag or website. I have seen some recommendations to just use dish soap if you need to clean but I think in most cases just wiping it down should be okay.
1. Obviously golf bags can get a little heavy when fully loaded. On the bottom of the bag/under the bag pouch is a small handle that can be used in conjunction with the top handles to lift the bag into your vehicle.
Congrats Testers! These look like great bags and looking forward to hear your feedback. They seem very similar to Vessel so will be interested to see if anyone has gamed one of those to compare with these.
I can say I have never gamed any other bag of this quality, but have seen others play Vessel and some higher end bags. I will see if i can get a round or two with someone who does have one to see if we can compare.
Definitely very similar. I was at MGS HQ today and Connor uses a Vessel bag so I took an opportunity to check it out. There are subtle differences in the leg mechanics and some finish details. the storage of the Vessel seems to be a little less even with the larger side pocket though I am not sure which Vessel model he has. I'll try to remember to ask him tomorrow.
Thought I would do something kinda corny and cheesy but incoropate some of the Ghost Bag "Top Gun" Themed Stuff. Hope you enjoy and possibly get a good laugh out of this! Operation Bag Take over is green!
I would say the over all materials used are the same, however the ball pocket almost seems thicker, if that makes sense. It is the synthetic leather though, with the ball pocket lining. This is an interesting to me. @arodrig29, I saw your picture which looked liked mine from the outside but does yours have the Ghost lining and is it the synthetic leather or a cloth material?
I was just talking about the lining; not the entire ball pocket, with the "ghost" lettering. Started taking a closer look and it also seems that the padded area above the side pockets is different. Yours is the same material as the bag and mine is a cloth material.
@GolfSpy_KFT and @Preeway, you both have the Ghost Oreo bags; what material is the rain hood (does it match the bag or is it a heavy cloth) and what is the material above the side pockets (again match bag or cloth) ?
American rapper E-40's 2006 song "Tell Me When to Go" produced by Lil Jon brought mainstream attention to "ghost riding".[1][2] Ghost riding is also another term used for car surfing, and the term is also occasionally used to describe a moving vehicle with no occupant, such as when a car without the hand brake applied starts to roll down an incline.[3] The practice originated in Northern California, specifically the Bay Area. It gets its name from the fact that while the driver is dancing beside the moving vehicle, it appears that the vehicle is being driven by an invisible driver. Subsequently, the trend was also featured in the lyrics of the 2006 track "Ghost Ride It" by Mistah F.A.B. whose wording speaks of "Dancing on the hood while the car's still rollin'".[4]
Ghost riding is an activity that has been practiced in the San Francisco Bay Area including Oakland, California, for many years, during what are called sideshows.[5][6] It is thought to have started as a trend around 2006.[7] The popularization of ghost riding a car is a byproduct of popular Bay Area music and the hyphy subculture in general,; additionally, it has been suggested ghost riding is a copycat crime popularized by YouTube videos and online social media.[8][5][7][6]
Ghost riding is performed by exiting an automobile while it is left in gear. The automobile's engine runs at idle speed, slowly propelling the car forward. As with car surfing, ghost riding is dangerous and has resulted in deaths in North America.[8]
