If you prefer to have just one Bing wallpaper, select the Picture option on the Personalize your background drop-down menu. Press the Browse photos button, select a downloaded Bing image, and click Choose picture. Then click the Bing photo in Recent images to select the wallpaper.

Thanks for your reply Scott. On more searching it seems it's bing wallpaper.exe that I want to find. I have bing image as a wallpaper and initially I just wanted to stop it from loading (i've put my own image now) but the wallpaper exe file must still be in my system I just can't find it. Is there any truth in the rumour that it's a key logging bit of software too that obviously woudn't be safe. I don't use it as a search engine. Thank you
Try one of the options from this website. I'm not sure if things would be different if you went into Windows safe mode, and ever since Windows 10 - 11, I really don't like doing that. I've been burned a couple of times in coming out of safe mode by looping Windows login screens. I have learned to disable Windows Drive Encryption, otherwise, it will ask for the recovery key to boot into windows. The other time was that I log into Windows by Windows Hello, and in rebooting from safe mode, wanted my pin number, which it wasn't taking. So again, I don't think it an option that would work in general, but by only following these instructions...yikes :)
I don't have a solution but face the same workflow which seems to be working as designed.
Take a look at the registry settings at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\BingWallpaperApp.
The "Enable daily refresh" switch seems to be reflected by the key "OverrideWallpaper" which holds a string "0" or "1" to disable or enable the refresh.
The wallpaper app recognizes when BGInfo replaces the background image and turns off daily refresh automatically.
One solutuion might be to make BingWallpaperApp think that the replaced image is the image of the day. There are several timestamps at the mentioned registry path.
The logfile at \Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\BingWallpaperApp\Log\ will give you more hints.
Happy research :-)
The workaround I have found and which - tentatively - seems to work OK is to set BGInfo to write its wallpaper image file to the BingWallpaperApp WPImages folder in %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\BingWallpaperApp\WPImages. You can do this by setting the Location option in BGInfo's Bitmap menu:
Are you trying to remove the Bing wallpaper or the landscape art that appears whenever you start up your computer? This wikiHow article will show you how to disable Bing Wallpaper and Windows Spotlight, two features that automatically set your desktop wallpaper to landscape photos.
Create a Scheduled task using Task Scheduler (under Administrative Tools) for this.
Run whether user is logged on or not (always run). Run with highest privileges (we need to be able to write the downloaded wallpaper, and set it in the ADFS theme). In this example I run the task in the Domain Administrator context. Remember this is not best practice. Instead create a user for this purpose and assign it just the right amount of rights to run this task.
Windows Server 2012R2 ADFS 3.0 (untested on ADFS 2.0, might work though)
The account that is defined in the scheduled task must have rights to modify the ADFS theme
The account that is defined in the scheduled task must be able to write the downloaded wallpaper
The account that is defined in the scheduled task must not be presented with Internet Explorer first-run experience
The account that is defined in the scheduled task must be able to run PowerShell scripts
The script as is must be run on the ADFS server
The ADFS server must be able to access bing.com using http (port 80)
Microsoft has launched a new Bing Wallpaper app for the desktop. The app allows setting Bing's daily image as your Desktop background. Once Bing receives a new 'daily' image, it will be automatically set as a wallpaper in Windows 10.
The new Bing Wallpaper app was quietly announced on Twitter by Microsoft Bing growth exec, Michael Schechter. "We just shipped an officially supported way to set the Bing homepage image as your desktop wallpaper on Windows," he said in a tweet.
Once installed, the app provides a new wallpaper every day, and users can also browse Bing images and learn where they're from. Given it comes from Bing's growth team, it's not surprising the app also prompts users to make Bing the default search engine.
Microsoft open-sourced PowerToys in September, reviving a feature it introduced with Windows 95 for power users. Each month developers behind the project are releasing updates and new PowerToys utilities, such as PowerRename for bulk renaming files, and FancyZones, for customizing windows layouts.
The wallpaper will have a Bing watermark on it in the bottom right corner. There is no option to disable this, but it's not very intrusive so maybe you can ignore it. The wallpaper is saved in the BingSnap folder as "Wallpaper.jpg". The saved image preserves the metadata such as the Author, Title. By default, the picture is refreshed every day to the newest image, and the new wallpaper.jpg overwrites the previous one.
The main menu of the BingSnap tray application allows you to disable the automatic wallpaper switching. Hit the Refresh option to get the latest image manually in case it wasn't obtained by the program. The "Open Archive" folder is only available if you set BingSnap to download images to a folder.
You don't have to keep the program running in the background. Use the Command-Line switch Bingsnap /exit. This will make the program run, get the latest Bing wallpaper, and exit immediately. It may have been better to include this in the settings, or at least mentioned in the Readme. I stumbled on to it at the version history page.
Of course, you can also just elect to install the Bing Wallpapers app, but according to many reviews, the app stops updating the wallpapers at random. I have not tested this on my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, but I have had it installed on previous phones and I experienced the same issues. This method works for me.
Bing has an official Wallpaper app that lets you automatically change your desktop background to match the daily wallpaper. This article will show you how to use that app and, as an alternative, a dynamic daily-rotating desktop background on Windows.
The original Bing Wallpaper is an open-source application which sets your wallpaper as Bing's image of the day, then runs in the background, offers an image-related search, a forced update feature and more.
As well as automatically changing your desktop wallpaper with these beautiful high-quality images, the Bing Wallpaper app also gives you the opportunity to browse the images and learn where they are from.
The stunning photos have previously been featured on the Bing homepage; you can click on a specific image to learn more about the subject matter. It also provides educational details about the pictures for the day. Similar programs include Simple Desktops, EarthView, and HDwallpapers.
