Anyone know where to get another set of those silicone rubber stopper things that the spool is supposed to turn on. Its goddamn impossible to drill a straight hole through those things by hand. I think the most annoying thing about this kit is that we have to drill these and other holes ourselves.

I did the same Thing the holes were so far off that the reel walks right off the holder then I went to take the rubber stoppers off the 3d printed shaft support broke !
worse thing is I have a CNC machine however the motor driver is broken on it and I was in such a rush to get it running I decided to just drill it with a hand drill.

I plan to fixing the milling machine once the parts come in (I think tomorrow) once it is up and running then I will cut a custom fit Spool holder I am thinking it will be about 1" in diameter and have set screws that hold it onto the motor shaft.
I will put the final version up here and if anyone would like one let me know. first let me see if I can get something running :)

I'm just finishing up my build now, but my stoppers are so bad I think my spool will walk off too. I havent been to the store yet, but looking at the stoppers, they remind me of those Rubber wine corks you can buy for recorking a wine bottle thats "in use"

I managed to spin my stoppers in relation to eachother's lopsidedness and I have a makerbot spool on it that isnt falling off yet. Tried an Octave spool and unfortunately the spool is too wide to fit on the rubber stoppers. I'll need to make my own rolling rail thing for those spools. It got me thinking though, When I have some free time I'll design an cap like part that we can shove into the end of the outer rubber stopper that will create an edge/lip that will catch the spool so to speak, keeping it from falling off. Basically a short tube with a wide cap on the end. I imagine that would be helpful to others that dont quite drill their stoppers straight too.
