Does anyone have an extrusion bot that produces consistent usable filament and also spools well? I know despite my best efforts my kit is far from what I hoped it would be. I can extrude semi consistent filament if I forgo the spooling system and extrude onto the floor but this is not what we were promised. I am very interested to hear from anyone who purchased an already assembled kit. Maybe my problems are due to my assembly but I have not seen a single positive post on this forum. Is anyone happy?

As no one has replied, I'll give my 2 cents.

The unit went together without a hitch.  I did snap a small plastic part, but a little heat melted it back together.
I found the existing auto spool system inconsistent.  I added a potentometer to the spool motor and manually adjusted the speed/power and got a very consistent spool.  I think the sensor for the auto system is too far back and the motor torques too much when switched on stretching the filament.  I think with the motor voltage turned down a little and the sensor moved forward a little, (and the metal wheel deleted), it should work well.

That's my 2 cents.

For a Kickstarter, do it your self, beta test unit, I think it works great.

I purchased an already assembled unit and after some initial problems with the spooling sensor not working, which they fixed and made some upgrades to the unit the only upgrade that they made that is noticeable is they put holes in the back and mounted a fan inside the case to exhaust the heat. the spooling is ok but not what I believe to be the best. I spoke to them and asked if they had thought of adding a guide that worked like a fishing reel and they said they were working on some thing like that to add onto the unit. they are also working on a video to show how to use the spooler properly. I had a problem with the pulley not working as it should and it causes aproblem when th hot PLA sticks to it. I used a metal ruler set at an angle against the back of the stand to direct the filament out to the front more so it would not have to move out to the pulley and it seemed to help with the sticking problem some. I would like to add a fan to the front of the unit to cool the filament a bit as it comes out of the extruder to see if that would help in the handling of the filament. I don't have my printer yet so for now I am just trying to get the hang of making filament as easily as possible.
