NO to the "Statement on Superintelligence"

My latest @Mindplex_AI article. I strongly criticize the "Statement on
Superintelligence" recently issued by the Future of Life Institute. I
think their proposed ban on artificial superintelligence (ASI)
research is misguided and potentially dangerous.

Maybe not a ban, but containment. I think there is going to be an AI bubble burst that slows this down. I suspect that is coming in another year, two at most. That will slow down these developments. It will also be a steep recession that may see the end of American dominance in the world.
