WTF? I thought that WW2 proved that battleships were obsolete? Is this what the Feds are firing up the money printers for? Pull funding from scientific research and use it to finance obsolete technology?

They are, even during WW2 they were obsolete and played no major role; if most of the US battleships had not been sunk at Pearl Harbor they would have been sunk during the next few opening days of the war.

It's idiotic but not surprising for a man is stupid as Trump who is more concerned with how his new "Trump class" ship looks than how well it can fight, or survive in battle. He has already criticized the new Ford class nuclear aircraft carriers because he thought their silhouette did not look as good as pretty as that of the older Nimitz class aircraft carriers. I'm sure he'd like them even more if he covered the new ships with gold leaf as he has already done for much of the White House and his $400 million ballroom.

Remember, the decision to do this is coming from a man who doesn't understand how numbers work and has been  saying for the last 4 months that thanks to him prescription drug prices have been reduced by 1600%.
