Our next meeting on 5th August 2015 will not be a normal meeting.   It will be the club's Humorous Speech Contest (HSC) and Evaluation Contest (EC).

All Contestants and Role Players are required to arrive by 6.45pm for refreshment.

Briefing by Contest Chairs to Contestants and briefing by Chief Judge to Judges and Role Players will start at 7.00pm.

Actual contest will start at 7.30pm.

Appreciate you notify your Judges accordingly.  Please let me know (in private) how many Judges you have. TQ.

For those who have no role, please come and support the contests.  Learn from those involved, either as contestants or role players.

Dear Fellow Members,

Following my earlier email, I am attaching the Contestant's Eligibility and Originality Form for your print out and signing.

This form duly signed must be returned to the Contest Chair for onward handing over to the Chief Judge.

Please sign 1 form for both the contests.

Please take note:

Humorous Contestants:

1. Your speech will be 5 to 7 mins. Less than 4min 30s or more than 7min 30s, you will be disqualified.

2. Your speech must be substantially original, ie. at least 70% original. Any quotes or stories not original must be stated the source of the material.

Evaluation Contestants:

1. There will be a Test Speaker who will be presenting a test speech of 5 to 7 min.  You are allowed to take notes during this speech.

2. After the speech, you will be given 5 min to prepare your evaluation.

3. At the end of 5 min, you will be called to deliver your evaluation as a contestant.

4. Timing for your evaluation will be 2 to 3 mins.  Less than 1min 30s or more than 3min 30s, you will be disqualified.

5. Judging of your evaluation will be based on your Analytical Qualtity, Recommendations, Technique and Summation.
