Invite Members to Experience the Glitz and Glamour of the Convention in Las Vegas At your next club meeting, invite your Toastmasters friends to register for the 2015 Toastmasters International Convention. Held August 12-15, this spectacular event features world-class speakers such as keynote speaker Patricia Fripp and Nobel Peace Prize winner and Golden Gavel recipient Muhammad Yunus. Finish the Program Year Successfully You can still achieve your club’s Distinguished Club Program (DCP) goals! Here’s how: Encourage participation in the “Beat the Clock” program (login required) which ends June 30. Review your club’s online DCP report for accuracy and target goals your club can meet this month. Email us if you find any discrepancies. Submit education and membership award applications by June 30 via Club Central. Get Awards Faster; Submit Applications Online Toastmasters International receives more member award applications in June than in any other month. As a result, members who apply for awards this month may experience a delay in receiving their certificates. To avoid delays, submit award applications via Club Central. Start the New Program Year Strong Outgoing officers: Help your club earn Distinguished Club Program credit for the 2015–2016 program year by following these tips: Encourage new club officers to sign up for district-sponsored Club Officer Training. Trained officers are better able to support their clubs. Secretaries: Make sure to submit your club’s new officer list via Club Central by June 30. Annual Business Meeting—Plan Ahead In July, club presidents and secretaries will receive proxy information via email. Delegates will vote at the August Annual Business Meeting for international officer and director candidates and proposed amendments to the Bylaws of Toastmasters International. Plan for Year-End June 19 is the last day current district leaders may place supply orders and access the district reserve account for the 2014–2015 program year. Incoming leaders can access district accounts for the 2015–2016 program year beginning July 1. Reporting Requirements Due July 15 District directors must fulfill certain reporting requirements by July 15 to access the reserve account and place supply orders. Look for details in emails you will receive from District Services. Get started now by emailing the District Finance team the following: A signed District Signature Form. Copies of all related signatory documents required by your bank. Prepare for District Leader Training Visit the District Leader Training webpage to learn how to register for this valuable training event. Look for an email in July regarding assignments due prior to training, which takes place prior to the International Convention. District Directors: Preorder Packaged Supplies from Convention Store What supplies will your district need? Take advantage of the convenience of picking up preordered supplies at the Convention Store. More information will be emailed this month.
