In the "Building Extempore on OSX & Linux" article, it says to get pthread using `brew install pthread`. Homebrew tells me there's no such formula, even after I `brew update`. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!
Tom

Hi Tom

Whoops, pthread should already be on your system, no need to install it yourself.  Thanks for picking that up.

As a side note, there's a bigger problem with compiling LLVM 3.0 on OSX at the moment. There's a bug in the LLVM source which older versions of clang wouldn't pick up, but newer versions (including the latest OSX command line tools) do.

I've updated the article to provide more info, but the quickest solution is to just download the Extempore binary on the github downloads page.  Which version of OSX are you on?

Cheers,
Ben

I'm on 10.6.7. The binary is for 10.7+. Is that "close enough"?

Thanks,
Tom

Yep, it should work I think. Let me know how it goes and I'll update the page if it woks.

Cheers,
Ben

Hi Tom,

Did the binary work for you in the end? If so, I'll change to description to '10.6+'

Cheers,
Ben
