Issues with DirectStore with Arguments

I'm having trouble using a Combobox with a DirectStore with arguments
with the ExtDirectHandler.
I CAN use a Combobox with a DirectStore without arguments with the
ExtDirectHandler.
It appears that it is unable to parse the response and populate my
combobox when arguments are used.
Do you have any idea what the issue could be?
