Formy Toyota I can easily order genuine parts from I was surprised to find out that parts for Australian Mazdas are nowhere to be found. Neither Amayma nor any other parts catalogue I've come across recognises my VIN number.

I dunno, there must be something proprietary about Mazda VINs, but perhaps you'll have to take a chance that similar engines are probably the same, and interior trim parts are probably the same with UK right-hand-drive cars.

If it is the same part number, it will fit your vehicle. So just make sure you do your homework. Large corporations have configuration control. If there is anything slightly different, it will be a different part number.

I couldn't find Australian parts catalogue for Mazda anywhere (if you know where to find it, I would really like to see it). So it's not really for my car, but rather same (not exactly) model for European market.

Parts for old Mazda particularly are a pain, not much left in the few remaining wrecking yards. We drove Sydney to Cooma to get an old front seat frame for a 78 323 rwd hatch. Frame rusty as hell but we restored it.

They do it, just email a random dealer. I did it for the engine mount I mentioned above. I just asked for a part number and their price. They emailed back the same day with an attached PDF quote showing the part number and price.

Ordered some window trim for my 09 sp25 off amayama. Besides the long shipping time there wasn't anything that went wrong. I simply found the equivalent car and went from there on their parts guide. Maybe I was too relaxed but my thinking was it's the same car regardless of where it's sold. At most they might have a different engine option.

I do not include 2-3h of my time I spent on Sunday morning to do the job, so it's not entirely fair, but you get the picture. There is also a risk of getting wrong parts as VIN search doesn't work, but even if I ordered all of them wrong eight times over, I would still break even.

I bought some oil cooler parts for my Toybaru from Partsouq. Cost from dealer was $820 and three month wait. Cost me $250 (including freight) from Partsouq and had it on my doorstep in less than a week.
