experienced artists translating sketches

I came across this collection of pictures. Artists use kids drawings
for their own work. The spirit and creativity behind the work appears
to be kept and used in a style that that the more experienced artist
has chosen. The results are neat, I feel, and very evocative.

It made me thought how neat this might be for try with clients to have
their work shared again, interpretated by a experienced artist. Would
this alientate a client or give them more perspective, I wonder.
