Dear All,

Please read the sad news from Prof. MORIMOTO's email about death of Prof. Takashi at 74 years old. I feel so sorry about this news.

Achievements from Prof. Takashi:

Prof. Takashi studied experimental mechanics, especially viscoelastic material and photoelasticity.

He made efforts to establish Technical Section on Advanced Technology in Experimental Mechanics JSME-MMD, and JSEM, and he was the president of JSEM, as a leader of the experimental mechanics in Japan.

Also internationally, he made efforts to found International Conference on Advanced Technology in Experimental Mechanics, and Asian Committee on Experimental Mechanics (ASEM), and he was active in the field of experimental mechanics as the president of SEM.

PS: If someone has the related photos about Prof. Takashi, please send those to me and I can post them on website of ASEM for commemoration. Thanks.

I am sorry to tell you that Prof. Takashi died of lung cancer on Friday, August 30 at 11:43pm.

I express the deepest condolence for the bliss of the dead.
