kayak backpack

I tried to make a backpack system for my kayak today but it was an epic fail.  I'm going to try some of these ideas:

Except I'm trying to use just a throw rope, sleeping pad, pfd.
I'll let you know if anything works.

I like the first one. I have done one with straps before.  It was OK but the kayak was empty. Not sure the loaded kayak would be OK. 

I plan on bringing a 20ft strap to rig something out but if you find ZE solution, let me know. :)

Have u weighed your boat with gear in it?  I got on the scale with the boat and came in at 250lbs. I am 165 so I am carrying around 80lbs and struggling. Please god no six mile hikes.

Dan,   I am counting on the two trips method.   With a light weight back pack to carry some gear on the first trip, and then a lighter boat for the second trip or else a lightened boat.   -    Tom
