Here's a recap of our bored meeting tonight.
General Info:
6 day self-supported paddling trip on the Malbie river (about 100 miles North of Sept Iles)
Krusty Krew: Tom, Hank, Kenny, Sandrine, Simon, Dan
Departure date: Friday August 5th as early as possible (afternoon/night)
Return date: August 13th at night?
Drive: 25 hours, 1270 miles, $500 gas, ONE WAY + Tom's shenanavan maintenance expenses
D.C. to Havre Saint-Pierre
Environment:
Only black and brown bears (no grizzlys)
Hi: 58 Low: 42
25 miles of flatwater paddling on 3rd day
Food:
Around 5000 calories per day
Trader Joe's trail mix bag = 2250 cal. / 15 servings
REI Freeze dried = 750 cal. / 2 servings. 8 oz.
Gear:
Limit of 300lbs a person for the plane (this includes your body weight. Simon is selling gear weight if you're in need).

-mosquito head net
-good river shoes (so you can climb on rocks)
-camp shoes (crocs?)
-bear bell (so they don't eat us)
-lightweight/mesh bags (to carry gear when we scout rapids so we can run the rapids with light boats)
