Why does it delete my preferred words when I change the grid?
Is there a way to generate a grid that will use the most number of preferred words?
How do you make more than one answer linked to the same clue?

Thanks

The "preferred words" feature was originally added by me as a way to create themed grid-fills, so it made sense to tie the words to the puzzle (I only supported 100-ish words in the preferred set). BTW, the preferred words don't get deleted, they stay associated with the puzzle that you created them in (if you open that puzzle again, you'll see those preferred words).

I have recently made changes to allow much bigger preferred word lists. It does make sense now to reuse lists across puzzles, treating them like "custom word lists." It will still be limited by the overall 5 MB local storage limit for now.

I have a bug open to add this feature, you can track it at https://github.com/viresh-ratnakar/exet/issues/42. Feel free to comment on the bug (that goes for everyone :-) -- direct feedback is very helpful to me for figuring out features and priorities).

Yes, that's another open bug I have :-). https://github.com/viresh-ratnakar/exet/issues/44. Again, please feel free to comment on the bug. Are you looking to create blocked uk/cryptic-style grids or US/nyt-style grids.

Not sure what you mean. If you're trying to create a "quantum" puzzle, while Exet doesn't support it directly, you can add the functionality to the interactive Evolve file after saving it from Exet. You can see details here: https://github.com/viresh-ratnakar/exolve?tab=readme-ov-file#alternative-letters

Thanks

I want to make a themed UK cryptic. Shouldn't a grid be treated differently than a puzzle?
My "workflow" seems to be wrong but what I tried was:
1 Type in a bunch of preferred words I want
2 Notice I can't fit enough in the grid
3 Change the grid to try and find a better one, but then they get removed.

Ok now i know i can go back and copy the list from the history, but it's a bit slow and awkward. It would be easier if you could at least specify you need enough spaces for certain letter counts in the random grids, or be able to choose them manually. It seems like the best option is just a blank grid?

I just mean a clue where the answer is 3 words that go in 1 down, 15 down and 20 across for example.
