An AMD driver update last year (and ever since) introduced an incompatibility with most SL viewers. Most viewers have since been patched, but Exodus hasn't been updated since that driver (and the LL changes to regain compatibility) went to general release.

If you are still on Windows 7 or 8.0, then the old 13.4 Catalyst driver should work. Windows 8.1, unfortunately, requires the newer drivers that are incompatible with Exodus.

This same problem also affects Linux distributions that use a recent fglrx.

The Catalyst 14.3 beta for Windows from today seems to resolve this crash, at least for me.

I haven't tried the matching fglrx release, but someone with crash troubles under Linux, who is patient enough to deal with fglrx, might want to give it a whirl.
