xml escape

hi,all
I make a jabber client with java, but when i send some Special
characters like "Î„äŒŒã©Šé¡´äª¥à¯šç€¿í¥®îš˜ß", i get the error
"<stream:error xmlns:stream='http://etherx.jabber.org/streams'><xml-
not-well-formed xmlns='urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-streams'/><text
xmlns='urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-streams'>not well-formed (invalid
token)</text></stream:error></stream:stream>"

i have used CDATA, but it still has error, so I want to know how the
exodus escape xml
