Whenis comes to speed, flash cards really make or break your day. If you shoot any kind of action like wildlife, sports or even fast moving storms across the landscape, you might be shooting a lot of frames in a short amount of time. And if you have a high resolution camera, and a slow flash card, you might fill up your buffer and have to wait until it clears before you can take another photograph. Nothing is worse than missing a shot while you wait on your buffer to clear. And it only gets worse when you get back to your hotel. Everyone is headed to the lounge to share their amazing photos from the day, but you are still waiting for your images to download. Ugg! I tend to be pretty high energy, especially after a cup of coffee, and nothing drives me more crazy than waiting on my images to download so I can take a look at them.

Wondering if it would be possible for your rise component template team, to update the flash cards so that a background image can be placed on one side of the card, and still retain the ability to have text over the image. Rather than as it is now, the moment you choose image, it takes over the whole side of the card and no longer allows you to add text. It's nice to have an image and description., or simply have a nice visual texture applied behind the text.

Right now, the only way to achieve this is to place the text into the image. which causes editorial and localisation issues. Which means that the image file will always have to be reedited, causing slower development, and increased costs.

Flashcards have proven themselves to be perfect memory-boosters time and again, with many successful students now waking up to the benefits of using online Flashcards regularly. With GoConqr you can easily create a Flashcard deck and share it with friends or colleagues any time, any place, even on our mobile application.

Features such as Flip, Shuffle and Rate allow for a greater degree of interaction with learning material and allow students keep track of their progress as they go. You can use revision flashcards to show students what they need to learn, or have them create their own flashcard decks which they can share with a class group on GoConqr. Because they can hide flashcards they already know, they can focus their revision time efficiently.

A community member recently assisted me by providing the last firmware update, 1.1.6, for my newly acquired but gently used (18k shutter count out of 200k) DLSR. When I installed the firmware I used a 32GB compact flash card that I had and formatted it in the camera.

I used Windows Disk Management out of curiosity and found out that out of 32GB the camera created an 8GB partition. On a hunch I deleted the partition and created a new one with disk management. I quick formatted card in FAT32 which created a new partition of nearly the entire card.

I haven't tried this method on a 64GB or larger card. From what I've read with the latest 1.1.6 firmware this camera will recognize and use CF cards up to 32GB. If you need more space you'll need a newer camera. But for those who enjoy shooting a slightly used older DSLR like mine this work around should pave the way for your photography pleasure.

I inserted a SanDisk 32GB compact flash card thinking I'd formatted it. I was able to take 100's photos on a recent holiday. When I tried to transfer them to my computer I was informed on the computer & when I tried putting it back in the camera that the card was not formatted. Is there any way of recovering my photos?

What is going on is that your computer is unable to recognize the card's file-system. This sometimes happens with an incompatible reader or older operating system. This is highly likely because of the size of your CF card which is not so common. At this point you need to try something:

Sorry, I had not noticed you said the card no longer works in-camera. Your last hope is to use a recovery software like Photo Rescue or Image Rescue. These software usually show you a preview of the files they can recover before you have to pay. Actually, if you bought your Sandisk recently, you may have a coupon for a one-year licence.

Even before we started Lily on a neurodevelopmental (ND) program through ICAN, I was using flash cards with her. This is one area that I think is confusing for parents new to an ND program. There are a few different types of flash card activities, such as receptive picture cards, language cards, and word cards, with various interpretations and even different names for these card activities.

To make the cards, I add the words to a spreadsheet, and then create a mail merge. I made a template for a folded style and for a half sheet. It was a hassle figuring out how to make a folded style because there is no easy way to flip text upside down! I use Photoshop for photo/word cards, but Word is much more efficient for word cards. I plan to upload some of my word flash cards in a later post, so stay tuned!

I print my cards with around 125 pt font, depending on how long the words are. If you print directly from the BrillKids program it resizes each word to fill the page. However, I prefer for all the words in a set to be the same size. So, I figure out the largest font I can use for all the words in the set I am printing.

This is what my spreadsheet looks like. If I think of a word I want to make for a flash card (like alpaca) I add it to the spreadsheet for when I have time to sit down and make a new set. I can filter and sort however I like, and I must say it allows me to reminisce about another life pre-kids when I was a Database Analyst. I kinda like that I can continue to use some of those rusty skills ?

In image occlusion, you generate flashcards from an image by hiding parts of it behind an opaque box on the front side, then revealing the hidden portion on the back side. It's like cloze deletion, but for images.

Before creating an image occlusion flashcard, you'll need to add an image to your notes. Or, if you have the URL of the image handy, you can use /ioc (insert image occlusion) to add the image and start an image occlusion in one step.

Otherwise, Ctrl+click on the image you'd like to create cards for (Cmd+click on a Mac), or click the image flashcards button that appears in the upper-right corner of the image when you hover your mouse over it. (On a mobile device, tap once to show these options.)

This opens the image in a window where you can begin selecting what parts of the image you want to occlude (hide from the front of the flashcard). Click and drag to cover the area you want to test yourself on. You can occlude any rectangular area you want, and add as many different occlusions as you want.

By default, each occluded area generates its own card, but you can merge occlusions so that multiple areas will be hidden on the same card. The letters on each occlusion indicate which ones go together; each letter corresponds to a single card that will be generated.

To double-check that you've created cards the way you want to, select the preview button at the top. This will show the front of each card the way it will appear when you practice it in the flashcard queue.

You can either show everything on the front side of each card except the current occlusion (the default behavior), or hide all occluded portions on every card (showing the item(s) you are supposed to answer in this particular card in blue and the others in gray).

RemNote will save your choice here and use it for the next card you create, so if you create many cards in a row that belong in one mode or the other, you don't have to keep changing it on every card.

Sometimes the part of the image you want to hide isn't at right angles to the image. You can draw an occlusion and then rotate and move it to neatly cover the appropriate area using the circular rotation point at the top of the occlusion.

When this option is enabled, small numbers will appear above each occlusion in the editor. You can click on these to change the order in which the occlusions appear (they start in the order in which you created them).

Disable All Cards: Don't show any of these cards (except any test-in-sequence card, as explained in the bullet point above) in the queue. You can also disable or enable cards selectively by clicking on the card's occlusion and moving the toggle switch.

Image occlusion cards are also a fast way to test yourself on the contents of tables you might find in a textbook or on a website: grab a screenshot of the table, paste it into RemNote, and then generate image occlusion cards.

I have a load of images (lots of them anatomy images, I am a medical student) and I want to turn them into flashcards. The part I am having trouble with is the modification of the image so that it hides the answers from me (in a logical way).

How can I do this quickly? I do not need it to be automated just user friendly and quick (I have to be able to make these as I go through my courses). So far I have been thinking about covering the text with white rectangles and using some type of stamp tool that automatically incremented the number each time I clicked.

Use the letter cards, photo cards, and flash cards to teach letter recognition, letter sounds, and vocabulary. Print the wall cards for classroom decor, and choose between multiple sizes of wall headers.

Print each of these posters, laminate, and punch holes in the top to use as a flip chart. These are excellent for teaching letter names and sounds with a small group. Display on a large screen for whole group teaching.

With my son turning one recently I was thinking hard about homemade gift ideas for his little friends. Mostly they are girls so I've been making lots of hair clips and pretty things, but our neighbor's little boy is just turning one and I wanted something different for him!
