Tomorrow’s GOAT guest DJ is a long distance listener...and a guy who goes the extra mile! Jim Litz streams WXYG where he lives just outside of Seattle
Washington. However he is now here in St. Cloud on a GOAT pilgrimage with his wife Olga. Jim and Olga have never been to central Minnesota before, but decided that when Jim's time behind the mic was scheduled that they would come see the sights of the Granite City, especially the places they hear about on WXYG. Stops at Beaver Island Brewing, The Lost Times Tavern and the Paramount Theater are on their list as they incorporate social / GGDJ planning time with wingman Al, Tess and members of the GOAT herd. Jim was raised in Stockton CA. From an early age he was interested in radio and tuned in to San Francisco stations including KSAN, a legendary Album Rock station of the '60's and '70's. His first concert was Yes, with opener Gentle Giant in 1976 at The Cow Palace in San Fran. Both bands will be represented on his playlist, along with other progressive rockers like King Crimson, The Moody Blues, Jethro Tull, Spirit and ELP. Jim will also represent his love of jazz-rock with selections from Joni Mitchell, The Mahavishnu Orchestra, Jan Hammer, Steely Dan and even Brand X. Jim is one devoted Goat! We invite you to tune in for Jim's report on his tour of the Red House that Rocks Tomorrow from NOON until 2:00 PM exclusively on Album Rock WXYG, The GOAT.
Remember, If you can’t Tune In and Turn On Saturday, don’t fret, we always do a Replay on Sunday evening at 9:00 PM, right after the Long Play Feature with Al at 8:00.
You too can be a GOAT Guest DJ. Simply send us a letter telling us why you’d like to do it, and include a list of 25 songs that you think is your perfect playlist, stick it in an envelope, and send it to Al, here at the station. The GOAT Guest DJ Program, exclusively on Album Rock WXYG.
