im using the RoTWK Special Edition and GameRanger to play with my friends on LAN. I'm not able to launch RoTWK trough GameRanger with a mod. When i start a game using GameRanger it statrs the game without mod. I tried looking in the options of GameRanger and found that you can change the location of the *.exe GameRanger uses to launch the game (at the moment "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king\lotrbfme2ep1.exe"). I tried chaging this to the Shortcut with the -mod comand but it doesn't work.

You can play on gameranger with mods, but only when mod files are packed in .big file. GR just do not like -mod commands. Just use FinalBig to create archive eg. "_mod.big", where you should pack all mod folders. If you do it correctly, you will be able to launch game with mod via GR.

We have downloaded, installed, and tested the GameRanger on our Windows 10 64-bit PC, and found that gameranger is safe as long as you download it from the official site GameRanger Technologies software. Although the program can install unwanted programs on your computer, to avoid this you have to uncheck all the boxes asking for permission to install any additional software on your PC.

When you download Gameranger on your computer, it comes as a GameRanger.exe file. exe file is a Windows executable file that has Gameranger installation media and files provided by GameRanger Technologies software developer to install the software on your PC.

Malware and viruses are also transmitted through exe files. So you must scan the file before running it on our computers or laptops. To check whether the exe file is legit you can start the Task Manager. Then click on the columns field and add Verified Signer as one of the columns.

Windows 10 OS comes with a built-in file protection program called Windows Defender, which will not allows any .exe file to transmit malware and viruses on your PC. If Gameranger.exe file has any Virus or malware, Windows then will not allows the system to download it on your PC.

If you are using any old version of the Windows operating system, like Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7, you should install an antivirus program on your PC and scan each .exe file before opening it on your PC.

Unfortunately, Gameranger does not support Minecraft. To play Minecraft online you have to set up an SMP server, which is very difficult and painful. Minecraft should be added to the Gameranger-supported games list.

You should be careful while deleting the Gameranging on your Windows 7 or Windows 10 PC. While removing/uninstalling the GameRanger.exe from your computer you have to uninstall all the programs that come with the Gameranger running in the background and might be using CPU or GPU on your computer.

You can find this by opening the Task Manager application ( Right-click on Windows Taskbar and choose Task Manager) and click on the Disk option at the top to sort and find out the disk usage of GameRanger.exe.

Gameranger itself is not a malware or Virus, but if you have not installed this program correctly, any additional software or program that comes with a Game ranger can cause high CPU usage on your PC. You can check whether the game ranger causes high CPU usage or not, open Task Manager application and find the GameRanger process and check the CPU usage percentage.

GameRanger might cause High Network Usage on your PC, To confirm GameRanger.exe High data Usage on your PC, Open the Task Manager windows app and find the GameRanger process and check the Network Usage percentage.
