Hi Larese,

I understand that today was the last day of voting on the YIPPIE
Competition. Please let me know who the winner is so I can start the
process of preparing the $500 Pratt check for that person.

Thank you.

Fred

Hello Fred,

Yes, voting was shutdown yesterday. I will get the data together and send it (as well as the winner) to you as soon as I can.

Best,
Larese

Hello Fred,
The winner of the YIPPIE competition is Timothy Gay. We had 3,386 votes, a lot more than I ever expected. Here is the voting breakdown:

Anh Nguyen----------------90
Franklin & Lee-Coates-----35
Timothy Gay---------------3261
Total---------------------3386

The data is attached as well.

Best,
Larese

Hi Larese,

This is wonderful news that the York College community cast 3386 ballots
over the last two weeks during the YIPPIE sculpture contest voting - and
congratulations to Timothy Gay, of the Savanna College of Art, for his
winning entry. This response proved that this competition, designed by
Pratt students, ignited a spirit of pride at York that will have ongoing
value as York moves forward to raise the necessary funds to produce and
install Timothy's sculptural concept on the York campus.

Now that we know the outcome of the voting, a number of tasks must
immediately take place:

York's Responsibilities:

1. Send a congratulatory email to Timothy Gay also telling him that Pratt
will be in contact with him in regard to his $500 winning award - with a
cc to "Grad Exhibit09 <exhib...@googlegroups.com>."

2. Send email regrets to the losing contestants, Anh Nguyen and Franklin &
Lee-Coates (Play Lab) - with a cc to "Grad Exhibit09
<exhib...@googlegroups.com>."

Jerry Posman has the email addresses of the above individuals.

Pratt's Final Responsibilities in this Project:

As indicated above, Pratt will send the $500 payment to Timothy Gay. In
order to process a payment of this award to a non-Pratt student or person,
our accounting department will need the following:

1. Documentation of the conditions of the grant/donor, stating what the
parameters are to pay this money out (to satisfy this requirement, I will
send a copy of the Pratt/York Agreement to the our Accounting Office).

2. A W-9 from Timothy Gay (I will forward a W-9 to Timothy for him to
fill out and return by mail to Tessa Sutton, Assistant to the Chair of
Pratt's Industrial Design Department)

3. Once Timothy's W-9 is received, Tessa will fill a Pratt Voucher in the
amount of $500 for payment to Timothy and send it to our accounting
office. Timothy then will receive his check by mail.

If you have any question please let me know.

Regards,

Fred Blumlein
Adj. Professor, CCE

Larese/Fred:

Wow! Everyone did an amazing job. This was long in coming but was handled exceptionally well considering the bumps and potholes of our bureacracy. I hope that someone was keeping notes because this would make an exceptional case study.

Larese, Ron -- we should engage Dolores to see if an actual sculpture could be paid for by an individual donor, foundation Board member or Arts organization.

Jerry
