After installing my new Sonos Soundbar the sound volume indicator on my TV was replaced with a circle with a diagonal line through it as though the volume display is no longer available. How may I correct this so that I can see the volume indicator on my TV again? TV - LG TV: OLED55C8AUA.
I'm not a techie but I somewhat understand what you said. Thank you for replying. What I fail to understand is how the most highly rated TV by Consumer Reports and a highly rated soundbar like Sonos, both state-of-the art and very expensive, don't work together on the simplest element, the volume icon. It doesn't make sense.
Not inevitable, more completely random. I have three Samsung televisions attached to either Beam or Amp. Two indeed show no volume numbers, but the third one does (even though in steps increasing with 2, i.e. only showing even numbers)
Ok. Thanks for your suggestion. So my objective is to enabled the display of the volume scale. I found all three IR controls switched ON. Switching only the Use IR button off had the effect of disabling the volume control and the volume icon of the circle with a line through it no longer displayed. Leaving the Use IR and IR Repearer on and turning the IR Signal Light off allowed me to change the volume and the volume icon displayed. Turning the other two IR controls on and turning the IR Repeater off disabled the volume icon but enabled the volume control. So none of the combinations enabled the display of the volume scale, which is what I want to do.
1. Checking policies
2. Checking access control
3. Dismounting volume on the disk
4. Restoring the LUN from Snapshot copy
5. The attempt to revert the single file '/vol/xxxxx/g.lun' to a revision from the Snapshot copy 'xxxxxxx' on the storage system 'svm-r' failed. Error code: 28. Error description: Failed to restore file from Snapshot copy G_xxxxxxxx for volume "win_xxxxxx" on Vserver "svm-r". Reason: Volume is full or Volume crossed autodelete threshold. .

this looks like its through snapdrive, by the sounds of it, it wants to restore the lun. This seems to need enough free space in the active file system so that it can copy it out of that snapshot. Check the lun size and check the free space.
Have tried settings in Prefs, including sound panel, and the volume , no matter how I set it up, automatically moves down to 0. And that crossed out speaker panel - about 1 1/2 in square, remains, blocking anything behind it. Tried plugging in earphones so I could opt for external output, still no diff. Problem can be eliminated on a restart, but soon pops up .. **** nuisance when part of your work has this thing in the way.
3. If you've installed an application called "Memory Clean" or any other third-party software that is supposed to "clean" or "purge" memory automatically, remove it according to the developer's instructions and restart. You should do that even if the software is not causing the problem, because it's useless.
4. Other third-party software that has been reported to interfere with sound output includes "Boom" and "Samsung Kies." If applicable, uninstall according to the developer's instructions (not by dragging something to the Trash.)
6. Launch the application "Audio MIDI Setup" by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search and selecting it in the results (it should be at the top.) Select Built-in Output from the list on the left. If the Mute boxes are checked, uncheck them.
7. If a red light is visible in the audio-out port when sound should be playing, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a mini-stereo jack of the proper size. If not, the machine needs to be serviced. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by the warranty.
10. Start up in safe mode. Don't log in; just restart as usual when the login screen appears. When you do, make sure the words "Safe Boot" do not appear in the login screen. If they do, the system is still in safe mode and sound won't work.
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Recreate your settings in the Sound preference pane.
Currently I trade manually and use volume as an extra confluence. If any of the past few volume bars have gone over the moving average and at the same time (for a long) printed a red candle then that's a positive.

Background and purpose: Although crossed cerebellar diaschisis is well recognized after stroke, there is controversy concerning its clinical correlations and serial changes, and little is known about its prognostic value.
Methods: We studied crossed cerebellar diaschisis and cerebral hypoperfusion in 47 patients with acute middle cerebral cortical infarction using 99mTc-hexamethylpropyleneamine oxime and single-photon emission computed tomography within 72 hours of stroke onset. Thirty-one of these patients had outcome studies at 3 months; 15 of the 31 underwent an additional scan after acetazolamide injection. Tissue loss was determined with computed tomography, performed at outcome in 28 patients. Clinical stroke severity was assessed with the Canadian Neurological Scale and Barthel Index. Cerebellar blood flow asymmetry was studied in 22 healthy, age-matched control subjects.
Conclusions: This study shows that crossed cerebellar diaschisis is a functional phenomenon that correlates with both stroke severity and infarct hypoperfusion volume and persists despite neurological recovery. Although acute-stage crossed cerebellar diaschisis has no prognostic value independent of acute-stage hypoperfusion volume, it might indicate the proportion of nutritional to nonnutritional perfusion at the infarct site and hence be useful in the evaluation of reperfusion therapies in the acute stage.
Crossed has become well known to comic readers as some of the most violent and graphic titles on shelves. I started reading the series when the original written by Garth Ennis was being printed and kept up with the series through the years.
We learn about the contagion, which when infected, humans lose all inhibitions and act out any depraved thought they could think of. They lack self preservation and their only goal is to maim, rape and murder anyone they come across. Even fellow Crossed when they are bored. Those who are infected develop a red cross on their face.
Early in this volume the expectation is set for what will happen when you make the wrong decisions and we witness very violent scenes that set the bar for what the Crossed are capable of. The idea of hiding in a shopping mall and waiting for the danger to pass will quickly lead to torture and death for you and the people around you. When the survivors encounter an organized group of Crossed it makes a horrendous situation even more difficult.
After volume 1, Garth Ennis gave approval for more stories to be told in the Crossed universe as long as his characters would be left out of new stories. The tone is definitely different with David Lapham as the writer and Javier Barreno on art.
In this volume we follow a religious family who manage to escape their North Carolinian ranch after the Crossed attack and struggle to survive. Not everything is what it seems, as we learn more about the matriarch of the family who is a monster not unlike the Crossed in many ways.
This is the volume the story leans heavily into gore and violence for the sake of gore and violence. There are some themes to explore but it begins to be more about how shocking the acts of the Crossed and humans can be rather than story and characters. It pushes boundaries but lacks in substance.
Badlands contains some really great arcs, but equally some really bad arcs, too. There are some interesting characters that are introduced and developed, even some who are Crossed. Some of the arcs lean more into gore and violence while others expand the universe and explore different ideas that are intriguing and thought provoking. It was very hit or miss for me, but some are worth reading. (see below for my recommendations)
Best of all, Ennis returns to the title and has some arcs in this series. In the first arc it has a similar tone as the first volume, following a group of strangers who become dependent on one another for survival with very mixed results. These are the types of stories that I find most interesting, humans and how they handle life and death situations when they depend on strangers to survive. In another Ennis runs we witness the beginning of the outbreak and the mistakes that were made.
We follow Shaky, who is a former writer that has managed to survive the initial outbreak in Scotland and was able to find an island called Cava with a group of survivors. This is one of the better arcs, exploring leadership, human psychology, group dynamics and the lengths people are willing to go to survive. The main character is deeply flawed and that makes this story feel more relatable and interesting. Do we really all know how we would handle the world being taken over by violent, murderous and depraved Crossed?
