Also sorry to sound rude, but who is part of the majority? You said you were unable to find software. I have now given examples and they are popular apps too. Which apps do you use that reopen with a single click? I am not referring to programs pinned to the taskbar - it is system tray.

Remove Avast Icon From Taskbar

I am not asking to change the design, just requesting an additional alternative settings for people (I am sure I am not the only one - my friend who commented above also has the same problem). It would be nice to either have the option for it to open or double click or handle it like Avast does and leave the emClient icon on the system tray.

Even better would be changing the eM Client systray icon when new mail has arrived, like Windows Live Mail or Outlook does. This might provide a better excuse for the systray icon to stay visible, since it would now be serving an additional function.

Hi there, I appreciate that his is your software and your company does decide what to do with it. But we have provided examples where it is not standard behaviour. Can you provide examples backing your claim that is already standard please for closure? Eg, give examples of other apps behaving in this way.

Also, why are you being so arrogantly stubborn with your (many paying) users? Its a bit ridiculous. Makes me wonder if I should even keep paying for you software if this is your mentality. Who are you, Apple?

Also, while I am at it, why does the icon disappear from the system tray when I open the program? Yet another abnormal behavior from EMClient that I have never seen on another program. Have you guys actually used Windows?

It is such a small thing to fix, having the icon always shown in the tray when you have chosen to minimize EM to the tray. Probably just a few lines of code. The behaviour is abnormal and does not follow the guidelines from Microsoft.

It would be incredibly simple for the eM Client development team to support receiving the double-click action, *without* changing their functionality in any way, and without following any of the great suggestions we have made (leaving the icon in the tray permanently).

The change they could do which would be trivially easy and introduce perhaps 2-5 more lines of code is, instead of simply removing the tray icon, they could: 2. Set a timer for 1 second (longer than the slowest double click). Point the timer handling code to callback routine. 3. In the timer callback routine, remove the tray icon.

Hello all. I have been having an issue with Norton 360 on my Windows 11 PC. I know there are other people having this problem too, because I belong to another Norton forum (actually not directly associated with Norton but it's a long story) and others are reporting the same problem. In the lower right of my taskbar, I currently see 3 icons that are hidden. One is Windows Security, and it has a green check mark on it. The second is Bluetooth for my mouse. The third is the Norton 360 icon. It's yellow with a green check mark on it.

So now all is good. But often times when I either reboot, or do an upgrade and the upgrade reboots, I get more than one Norton 360 icon. Up untill a few days ago, the most I got was two. Usually, I can reboot and if I'm lucky, I'll have the one icon back. But the other day I actually had 3 icons.

not sure if this is the answer but the norton with green checkmark appears when you start up and shows its been started ( loaded) depending on system could be shown for minute or less , regular process like the others

maybe you have it installed more than once? i would check your installed program list and see if it shows or in task manager first screen ( programs running) if it shows one or more norton running (do think it shows as 2 in mine norton program and another thing cant recall of top my head )

That is correct. If a Norton installer finds an existing Norton product, it will either just update that installation, or if necessary, it will initiate an uninstall of the existing product before starting the install.

Using Avast antivirus software on your Windows 11/10 PC and experiencing high CPU and disk usage from the "Avast Service" can be frustrating. This issue can slow down your system and make it difficult to perform tasks. However, there are several ways to fix this problem.

This article will provide a step-by-step guide to solve the Avast Service high CPU and disk usage issue. Utilizing the steps below, you can continue using the powerful Avast Antivirus app while optimizing your PC's performance.

Avast Service is a process that runs in the background of your system and provides real-time protection against malware and viruses. This process is responsible for checking files, web pages, and other data for threats and removing them if necessary. However, the Avast Service can sometimes use up a significant amount of CPU and disk resources, leading to performance issues.

This happens for a variety of reasons. Because Avast Antivirus includes real-time monitoring, it's possible that your setup is not powerful enough to support this feature. If you're using outdated hardware, the wrong drivers, or incorrect settings, the Avast Service can use too much of your system's resources.

The first thing you should try when dealing with the Avast Service high CPU and disk usage issue is to restart your computer. This can help reset any settings or processes causing the problem. To restart your Windows computer, open the Start menu from your taskbar, click the "Power" button, and then choose "Restart."

By default, your Avast software will run at startup. This means that as soon as your system boots, the Avast apps on your device will also automatically launch in the background. While this feature is undoubtedly useful, it may cause some performance issues. Turning it off often solves the problem of your Avast app draining resources.

Try updating your Avast antivirus software to the latest version. The newer versions of Avast have several bug fixes and performance improvements that can help to reduce CPU and disk usage. To update your Avast software, follow these steps:

If your Avast software frequently scans your computer, it can use up many system resources and lead to slowdowns. Scans need a lot of disk and CPU power, so reducing the frequency of these scans can help resolve high usage issues. To reduce scan frequency, follow the steps below:

Most Avast applications have a mail shield feature. This feature scans your emails to detect malicious activity and automatically removes it. However, this can cause high CPU usage, so disabling it may help reduce resource utilization. To turn off Avast Mail Shield:

Avast has various add-ons and extra components you can install to improve your system's protection further. One tool, called the "Cleanup tool," is known to cause high CPU and disk usage. To free up some resources, you can uninstall this feature.

When a new version of your Avast software is available, it will alert you through a system notification. This feature is known to cause high CPU and disk usage. To turn off the notifications, follow these steps:

The Avast Service using high CPU and disk can cause your system to run slower than usual. Fortunately, it's possible to fix the issue quickly with some simple steps. You can enjoy your computer fully while staying protected using cutting-edge Avast technology.

We hope this article has helped show you how to fix the Avast Service high CPU and disk usage issue so that you can use the software without further problems. However, we recommend contacting Avast for further assistance if you still have trouble. Their customer service will diagnose and resolve the issue quickly, helping you get back to using Avast without any more worries or slowdowns.

It only delays the load of some Bitdefender graphics for a better response of Windows 10. The anti-malware engines are loaded automatically at boot from vsserv.exe. This is the main process of Bitdefender in charge of real-time protection.

I also had a same problem. But as mentioned by Alexandru_BD, Bitdefender won't load in system tray even after waiting for 10-15 mins. Later on I discovered that I had disabled Bitdefender VPN from autostart. This somehow prevented main interface as well from starting up. Once I enabled Bitdefender VPN in autostart, it started showing up in system tray upon boot.

I have the same problem. But the icon does not load even after an hour. Bitdefender agent is running and the system is protected. But I have no possibility to manage my settings or add and remove exceptions.

Interesting. I have recently been plagued with the same issue. I'm running Windows 11 build 19043.1766. Although the tray icon is missing, Task Mgr shows that Bitdefender is running. This seems to ONLY happen when I do a cold start. If I then do a restart, the icon magically appears.

Just realised that Bitdefender agent was disabled in startup apps and confirmed with BD support this is required for the security widget to display. I don't know how the app became disabled (widget was displaying OK "mostly") but I had (almost certainly) explicitly disabled the BD VPN app from startup (as I have an alternate VPN/no reason to use BD VPN)... Anyway, have reenabled the agent (which BD said was not required for security purposes but is needed for the security widget to display) and will see if that solution "sticks" over the next couple weeks.
