I was going to write about said Birdman, but on reflection he was an awful fellow with only a couple of redeeming features that hopefully saved him from spending too long a time in Hell. So instead it's the subject of ghosts/bhoots/spirits, whatever you call them. They exist and are human souls that are too attached to leave the Earth. They are attached by a person/family member or place or situation or desire/want/need, which is a shame. They could be spending time in the Heaven of their choice and having a rest. Instead they trouble human beings that are alive and may enter into them, overwhelming them in order to carry out their desires. This makes the host ill on a number of levels, after all the human nervous system is only supposed to support one soul, not two! They can be removed by an authorised person and procedure. If you've ever seen the Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg film, Ghost (1990), that's pretty close to the truth of the matter. A good way to deal with them is not to go to the extremes of anything and remain balanced. For instance, if you are an inveterate alcoholic, you will stand a good chance of attracting a ghost that wants to continue to enjoy alcohol - via you. Be warned! May you attract only Love and Good Fortune.

The Overview: Well, I was thinking about uploading the Singularity 2 (HDR) [yes it is ready] but then I thought why not something wicked this time so I opened up the shot and started processing it and walah here we have it ! This is a shot typically inspired with Sabertooth from Xmen Origins - Wolverine. I loved the movie and the character of Victor Creed

What is? How do we define 'what is'? What can be seen, felt, smelt and touched is reality? But what about what can't be touched, felt or smelt but seen, like a reflection? A reality definitely! But the same reflection can not be seen by another person looking at the same scene but from a different angle. Does that make it unreal? No, definitely no! Therefore, what is reality for one, may fail the test of what is real - sight, smell, sound, touch - for another?

When I think of my favorite foods, I start sensing their aroma! Or that first love; that first kiss; that scent on her, I can smell it every time with its thought., even 25 years later! It's definitely not a reality. It's the past. The "Bhoot".

If a past experience or a craving can haunt us like this - I mean by actually making you feel that experience in your senses, can something else also come back from a past and haunt you? Aren't we getting now into a gray area between the real and the unreal? Hindi has a nice way of putting it - it has one single word for 'past' and for 'ghost' - "Bhoot"!

I m not really sure of how real is the 'real' we experience. May be we all are living a dream. My reality is, what I m dreaming about. If you comment on my picture, may be u r not commenting at all! May be I m just dreaming about it. While I m doing this rambling essay on my picture here in my dream, I might be doing something else in your dream - a dream that you call - your reality! Can your reality be different from mine? I mean radically different - not as a matter of perspective.

My mother, whom I loved so much, died of brain tumour about a decade and a half back. She was 58 years then. She was all fine till a day and then the next - she started showing signs of forgetfulness - lost her short term memory but all long term memory was intact! And then she started losing her sense of time - calling day as night; morning as evening and vice versa. All in a matter of hours! A CAT scan showed half her brain, the absolute middle of it, was taken by a tumour. Too late and too big and too deep for any medical or surgical help. She died within a month and a half of that day.

My mother was up and the room lights were on. I felt as if I had slept a few minutes back. My mother said it was 5 am in the morning. Time to start the morning chores! I looked at the wall-clock disbelievingly. It was indeed 5 am! I could swear I had slept a few minutes earlier. My wrist watch said the same. My mother pointed to the curtained window. "See, the dawn is already breaking," she said. The water is running from the tap too (in many parts of India, water is supplied only at fixed hours to homes, generally at 5 am for an hour or so. Hence, many Indian housewives leave a kitchen tap on, so that they would know as soon as water supply started. This works like a morning alarm in many middle and lower middle class households) I could see the faint light of dawn thru the heavy curtains on the window. And I could hear the tap running in the kitchen. Well, I m stressed and so I m feeling tired, I thought. I dived into my quilt again for a snooze. A few minutes later, I heard my father waking me up and trying to persuade my mother to get back into bed. He should know better, I thought. She has been waking up at 5 am for a better part of the 20th century!

Neurologists were calling this loss of 'sense of time', a classic symptom of brain tumour. But, is it that she had moved into a different level of the 'matrix' with a different set of realities? Was this a glitch in a dream generation system? Her realities were all too real for her - sight, sound, smell and touch - all! And I had seen them and heard them too!

This was shot in Delhi where Chef Atul Lahkar from Gauhati had brought them down for a food festival in November. Many Thanks to him for providing the basket and the spices and the hessian backing to serve as impromptu style backdrop.

i know you can kind of see my hands and the unfinished lines.. because i am not that perfect in this. It was the first time i tried this technique. So.. i think it was appropriate to uplaod as it's february:D

Diwali is a festival of light celebrated in India. India is a country with several cultural diversities. In West Bengal, Diwali is celebrated in form of Kalipujo ( Worship of Goddess Kali, Goddess of Power ) and Bhoot Choturdoshi ( Halloween ).

I personally do not like Chilli but that is a bit Un-Indian. Go to the north of India for that matter to Punjab you will get Paratha stuffed with chilli , any Paratha , Gobi paratha, Aloo paratha all are basically Chilli paratha ; go to west you will start crying over a plate of Kolhapuri chicken , I know a single sentence in Marathi - Bharpur Tikhat - means too spicy. Once I ordered a plate of Chicken fried rice in Assam and had to gulp a spoon full with a glass of water . You can get Stuffed Giant Red Chilli ( Lankachur) in Bihar & U.P. eat a bit and your fingers will smell for the rest of your life ; in Darjeeling you get small super hot red chilli pickled in Oil _ Dalle Khorsani - a delicacy for our Nepali friends. I have seen at least 5 types of Chilli getting sold in the market of Mizoram.

... A Brahmin Family. They left it about 25 years ago. Since then, nobody showed interest to live in it. So it is a "Bhoot Banglaa" (Literally it means a house of evil-spirits or devils but in general, means - an abandoned house) now."

This is the Geek Creek photostream's 1,000th photo. The title was intended to be mild and meaningless; the Adventure Team has wrapped up another mission, and now they're packing up to go home. But while I'll probably never be completely done with this scale or style, I have mostly set aside my G.I. Joes and other 1:18 figures in recent months in favor of NECA figures and Ninja Turtles and what-have-you. That could of course change at any time, but for now it seems like the end of an era, and suddenly this photo's title evokes a sense of mourning for me. Very strange.

Naraka Nivaran Chaturdashi(popularly known as Naraka Chaturdashi) is a Hindu festival, which falls on the second day of the five-day long festival of Diwali. The Hindu mythology narrates that the asura (demon) Narakasura was killed on this day by Krishna and Kali. The day is celebrated by early morning religious rituals and festivities followed on.

Also called as Kali Chaudas, where Kali means dark (eternal) and Chaudas means fourteenth, this is celebrated on the 14th day of the dark half of Kartik month. In some regions of India, Kali Chaudas is the day allotted to the worship of Mahakali or Shakti and is believed that on this day Kali killed the asura (demon) Narakasura. Hence also referred to as Naraka-Chaturdashi, Kali Chaudas is day to abolish laziness and evil which create hell in our life and shine light on life.

With the dust of Guru's Lotus feet, I clean the mirror of my mind and then narrate the sacred glory of Sri Ram Chandra, The Supereme among the Raghu dynasty. The giver of the four attainments of life.

Here you see Naja Bhoot (inspired by the Coil Con exclusive), with back-up provided by Hadji Singh (actually an Indiana Jones Temple Guard; I didn't even bother to customize him, just decided he's Jonny Quest's friend, Hadji) and their tiger pal; I named him Habibi after the transcendent graphic novel from Craig Thompson.
