Greetings, Dear Falcon Award Chair & Division Governor,
 
As you are aware publications in News Papers & Magazine' are very important tool in Marketing Toastmasters Fraternity. Unfortunately Knowingly or unknowingly, we have removed this recognition from Falcon award Criteria.
With due respect to Chair, I strongly suggest you to reinstate the subject point.  I have seen TM Shyams suggestion to increase point for Newsletter from 5 to 10. But it doesn't mean that Article in News Paper & Magazine should not be recognized. I hope you will understand the importance of my concern. 
 
In fact Area-28 most of the clubs- Indian club, Doha club, Excel club, & last not the least BC Toastmasters published at  The Peninsula & Gulf times (The leading news papers in Qatar). Indeed recognition in Falcon award will motivate other clubs to publish in News Papers to accomplish Vision & Mission of Toastmasters International.

Dear Presidents and VPEs :   Good day !   This is Sampath Sowrirajan greeting you ! I serve you this year as Falcon Awards Committee Chairman.   This year’s finalization of the Awards criteria has taken more time than originally envisaged. This is because of Ramadan, vacation and the large number of proposals (98 in all, for additions, deletions and changes) we had to deal with in a democratic manner. We have made a few significant modifications in the qualifications and criteria. Now the document is ready.  Please see the attachments for the revised norms and criteria for the Falcon Awards during 2012-2013. I would request you to : v Go through this document carefully and in consultation with your Excom and elders. v Bring to our attention any typo errors or minor issues. v Ask for any clarifications from your Area Governors or Division Officers including the undersigned. v But more important than the above, plan a systematic approach to identify and document with required proof all points that will bring Falcon laurels to your club or any individual in the club. In this your Area Governors will assist you. v Prepare a simple To-Do list for your club and promising individual Toastmasters of your club and divide the job in easy subsets among the Excom members. v Please note the new elements like Face Book usage and benefit from the points given to them. v Make one of your Excom members responsible for informing the members about the status of Falcon points and keep them alert and alive to the awards.   You may be happy to note that all categories will have three equal awards. This becomes, in addition to your own charts and DCP program, another useful tool to enthuse everyone in their Toast mastering journey and provide another mechanism for planning and monitoring activity throughout the year. Some of the points in the Falcon System identify and recognize contributions in areas which go unnoticed by other systems.
