Filtering Out the Rubbish: Protecting Our Minds from Negativity:
As Gaur Gopal Das wisely shares, we often get upset when someone throws garbage at our homes, but why do we accept mental garbage thrown at us by others?
It's time to apply Socrates' three filters test to filter out negativity and protect our minds.
When someone shares gossip or negative opinions about others, ask them:
1. Is it true? Verify the facts before accepting the opinion.
2. Is it good? If it's not positive, why entertain it?
3. Is it beneficial? Will it benefit you or others? If not, it's rubbish!
Let's be mindful of what we allow into our minds. A relationship is ruined not by a third person, but by entertaining their negative perceptions. Let's choose to focus on positivity and kindness.
As Gautama Buddha said,
“All that we are is the result of what we have thought."
Let's Keep Our Minds Clean and Positive:
By applying these filters, we can create a more compassionate and supportive environment. Let's prioritize positivity and kindness in our conversations and relationships.
With best wishes
