Apologies for cross-posting.

We are guest editing one special issue, here are the details for your reference.

Overview of the SI

The special issue of our journal, ABHIGYAN (will be published by SAGE), aims to delve into the realm of literature review in the domains of business, management, marketing, and emerging business practices. By examining the landscape of existing research and exploring the knowledge gaps, this special issue aims to bridge those gaps and contribute to the advancement of scholarly understanding in these fields. We invite researchers, scholars, and practitioners to submit their original work, theoretical perspectives, and critical reviews that shed light on the importance of literature review and its role in driving research excellence.

Importance of Literature Review in Research:

Literature review plays a pivotal role in the research process, serving as the foundation upon which new knowledge is built. It involves a systematic examination, analysis, and synthesis of existing scholarly works relevant to a particular research area. Here are some key reasons why a literature review is of paramount importance in research:

§  Identifying Research Gaps: Literature review helps researchers identify existing gaps in knowledge and understanding within their field of study. By critically reviewing previous studies, researchers can pinpoint areas that need further exploration and contribute to the existing body of knowledge.

§  Building a Theoretical Framework: Literature review enables researchers to develop a robust theoretical framework for their research. By synthesizing and analysing existing theories, models, and concepts, researchers can establish a strong foundation for their own work and ensure its alignment with the existing scholarly discourse.

§  Informing Research Design and Methodology: Through literature review, researchers gain insights into the methodologies and research designs employed in previous studies. This knowledge allows them to make informed decisions regarding the most appropriate research methods and techniques for their own investigations.

§  Supporting Evidence-Based Findings: Literature review helps researchers identify and evaluate empirical evidence from previous studies. By examining the findings of others, researchers can build upon existing evidence, validate or challenge established theories, and contribute to the accumulation of knowledge in their respective fields.

§  Enhancing Research Quality and Rigor: A comprehensive literature review demonstrates the researcher's commitment to rigor and quality in their work. By conducting a systematic review of existing literature, researchers ensure that their research is informed, contextualized, and rooted in a solid understanding of the relevant literature.

§  Facilitating Theory Development: Literature review aids in theory development by identifying recurring themes, patterns, and relationships across multiple studies. This process helps researchers refine existing theories, propose new theoretical frameworks, and contribute to the advancement of theory within their field.

§  Providing Practical Insights: Literature review not only informs academic research but also provides practical insights for practitioners. By synthesizing and analysing existing literature, researchers can identify best practices, emerging trends, and managerial implications that can guide decision-making in real-world business settings.

By focusing on literature review in business, management, marketing, and emerging business practices, this special issue aims to enhance our understanding of the role literature review plays in driving research excellence, shaping theoretical frameworks, informing practical applications, and bridging the knowledge gaps in these dynamic fields. We welcome all type of review papers (including but not limited to):
