Hi Aisling,

Looking forward to seeing your exhibition on culture night - it looks like you guys have done a lot of work on this and that it will be something pretty cool :) Get the blurb to us when you're ready or if you need help writing it let me know.

I was wondering if I could ask you/the group something? I've been trying to track down a photographer to come in on the night - either someone to be there and/or to drop in from time to time to take a few pictures for us. Most of my contacts are away. Would anyone in your group be interested in doing this? (I really should have asked you first, apologies but I guess I wasn't thinking). We're pretty loose and flexible, and while it's really just event photos that we need, it would be great to get them done properly - and definitely no problem with a photographer doing the photos however s/he wants :)

I know you guys run tutorials as well - would anyone be interested in giving a basic, short tutorial or running some kind of activity on the night? Even something short, interactive and very basic like how a non-photographer can find their way around their digital camera or something like that?

Thanks,
Naomi

We are volunteer-run but will do our best to help spread the word about your event or project. Send us a blurb and picture for our website, the link to your facebook event or page and get in touch with the Dublin Free Event Guide! Making sure to include the date and time, whether the event is open to everyone or certain age groups (this should be mentioned to us when you book) and most importantly, whether the event is free or not!

All decisions are at the discretion of the weekly collective but basic guidelines are that while we are always grateful for and accept donations to go towards bills (no volunteers are paid) we host free public events and gallery exhibitions for free, ask for a donation of your choosing appropriate to your needs for a closed, private or in any way exclusive event and ask for 30% of takings for ticketed/pay-in-only events, though we can be flexible on this for charitable causes.

We are a strictly alcohol-and-drug free space and cannot have very loud or fully amplified events out of consideration and respect for our neighbours and the residential apartments above us.

For an event or group looking for a regular booking, we usually book initially for 4 iterations e.g. 4 weeks for a weekly meeting. If things are going well and you're happy with the date/time and other arrangements, we're happy to extend the booking but collective does retain the right to review a booking in case any problems arise.

The space is here to be used by as many people as possible, so share it! At all times respect yourself, respect others, respect the neighbourhood and respect the space we share.

Hi Aisling,

Just a quick postscript - are you still planning to hang your pictures on Thursday, 20 September? This shouldn't be a problem but just to let you know that there is a comedy event in the mainspace from 7 to 9.30 so this may need to be worked around if noise can't be kept down (within reason). Hopefully this isn't too much of an inconvenience for you.

Best,
Naomi
