As you guys know we wrote this constitution before video conferencing was ubiquitous and we have in the last few years (mostly due to covid) allowed Jeremy, Goss, and Tony to draft via zoom without a problem.  

In the past I have interpreted "live draft participation" to include being live on video like we have done but someone (*Cough* Schwartz) has texted me to remind me that zoom drafting is not specifically allowed blah blah blah.  

Couple of things I want to be clear on: 

 1) The goal of this section was to have someone in place to draft if you could not make it.  We do not have any ability to Auto Draft a team live and we wanted to avoid relaying picks on a phone call like Jon Burriss did one time. It was a disaster.  That is not the case anymore with technology.  

2) I assume people don't want to skip the draft, it's the best part of the league.   If I had to miss for some reason, I would not want to send someone else to draft in my place.  

3) We are in our 40s, this is supposed to be fun.  Super restrictive rules like this can go.  And perhaps some of yall should lighten up with the constitution nazi stuff.    Good vibes only.  

4) In full transparency, this came up because JMT has a family vacation he can't get out of and will be drafting by zoom.  I did reach out to JJ and Billy, neither were available to draft that weekend.  

I motion that in Section VI. The Draft to STRIKE: 

d. Live Draft participation is mandatory for membership in “Excessive Celebration" 

and REPLACE: 

d. Live Draft participation is mandatory for membership in “Excessive Celebration".  Drafting through a video conference or similar technology is considered live drafting as long as all picks are announced timely and within the rules of this section.  

This will pass with 9 yes votes.  

I vote yay.
