Gents,
To change the constitution, votes have to take place through email. I will be sending out separate threads for each discussion topic with one going at a time. In each thread you will have
Amendment #5 is to change the waiver period from 2 days to 1 day. This would mean:
1) waivers would run overnight on Tuesday instead of Wednesday and
2) dropped players would remain on waivers for only 1 day, meaning less time to bid on them
this is the description from ESPN on the "waiver period"
Select the number of days each player will remain on waivers after the draft or after being dropped from a team's roster. During this time period, team managers can make claims on the player. Waivers are then processed according to the league's Waiver Order System, and the team with the highest waiver priority that makes a waiver claim will receive the player. The default setting is '1 Day'. Note that player's added and dropped on the same day will remain free agents. This setting can be changed at any time during the season.
This year, in particular, has 2 Christmas day games which will happen on a Wednesday. For all other weeks, full waivers will process before the next week's games start.
Language change:
Note: ESPN has changed how they handle this using the waiver period instead of designating a specific day, so changing that in the language.
In Section IV.f. STRIKE
Claims for unowned players will be handled through a Free Agent Auction, which will be processed by the LMS on the Thursday following the final game of each week.
Claims for unowned players will be handled through a Free Agent Auction, which will be processed by the LMS with a 1 day waiver period as determined by the LMS.
This will pass with 9 yay votes.
I want as much time and information as possible for waiver decisions and injury news so prefer it as late as possible, even if it impacts 2 games of the 272 game NFL season.
I vote Nay
