Football Fans and Gamblers Anonymous -I'm starting a new football pool this year that will combine our love for football and gambling, while limiting the amount of total money I can possibly bleed to the bright lights of the Las Vegas strip. It's basically a fantasy gambling pool, involving both college and pro football. You can bet on as many or as few games as you'd like, so unlike other pools, if there's a game you don't have a clue on, you can simply leave it alone. Instructions for how to join and the OFFICIAL rules are pasted below, but here are the basics:- $105 to join ($100 to the pool, and $5 per person to use the website).- You start with 1000 "shares" and can use them to wager on college and pro football, from week 1 of college through the Super Bowl.- At the end, we will pay out the top finishers based on how many shares everyone finishes with. I will let everyone know the exact percentages after week 1 kicks off - the number of people paid out will be determined by how many people play - and will update everyone on the amount in the pool if and when money is added throughout the season (see below on re-buys).- Straight bets, over/unders, parlays, and moneylines are all available. No juice on any bets.- 200 max shares per bet... I decided to do this because there's no way to put a separate limit on parlays vs straight bets, and don't think it's fair to have everyone who is trailing in the last week throw down all their money on a parlay as a crapshoot to win it.- Re-buys will be allowed up to 3 times (so max one player can contribute to the final pool is $400). You can only re-buy once your bankroll has hit zero, and can only re-buy in the amount of $100 for 1000 shares. Those are the basics. Should be a lot of fun. I encourage you to invite anyone you think would enjoy this. You can pay the entry fee ($105) via one of the ways below. Let's not reference any sort of gambling on any of the subject lines.- Venmo - @PaulMathewson; preferred- PayPal - paulmat...@gmail.com; please select "sending money to friends and family", and either pay the fee yourself, or choose one of the options that does not charge a fee, ie linking directly to your PayPal balance or your bank account. Do not charge me the fee.- Cash- Check, I guess. Paul Mathewson, 3196 Mathieson Dr NE, Apt 304, Atlanta, GA 30305Let me know if you have any questions! And again... please share! More the merrier. If you have a friend or coworker join, just ask them to shoot me an email.Lastly, since is my first year doing this, there's a good chance there's something I haven't thought of, so by all means if you have any suggestions before the season starts, let me know and I'll consider it. Once the season starts, rules are locked in to place.PaulI am inviting you to join my private Share Pool called "FANTASY FOOTBALL SPORTSBOOK", which I am hosting on a very easy to use website called officefootballpool.com. This email contains all the necessary information for joining.

SHARES
This pool is a Share Pool format. It's like playing at a sportsbook but instead of using real money we are using Shares. Shares have no value and are only used for keeping score. You can think of them as points.POOL FORMAT AND STANDINGSThis is a simple share pool where the person with the most shares at the end wins. Everyone starts with the same number of shares and if you lose all your shares you are out of the pool.INITIAL STAKEInitial Buy-In is $105 ($100 to the pool; $5 per person site hosting fee). Everyone joining this pool will get 1000 shares to start out.RE-BUYSRe-buys will be allowed, up to three (3) times. Players can only re-buy in amounts of $100 for 1000 shares, and can only re-buy once they are out of shares (eg, a player can't just buy 1000 shares in the last week to make themselves move up in the standings). Any money spent re-buying will be added to the final payout pool.RISK TO WINThis game does not use odds. You risk 10 shares to win 10 shares.PAYOUTSFinal payout percentages will be determined once the total number of pool entrants is finalized. Exact amount of payouts will grow as the amount of money in the pool grows (eg, if a player goes bankrupt and then re-buys, the total payout pool increases by $100).PICK DEADLINEThere is no deadline for making picks other than the time of the game. Once a game starts, you can't enter picks for it. The website should automatically prevent you from making picks once the game starts, but in the event of a bug or glitch in the website, any picks made after the start of a game will be voided.NO CHANGING PICKSJust like at a sports book, once you make a pick you can't change it. You can pick the other side to cancel out your original pick but you can't undo it.MAXIMUM RISKThe most shares you can risk on any pick is 200 (or the amount of shares you have left, whichever is less).CONFIRMING PICKSIt is your responsibility to confirm that your own picks are accepted by the website. You should see the Congratulations Screen after submitting your picks and you should receive a pick confirmation email. If you are still unsure if your pick was accepted, go to PICKS>Pending Picks and they should show up there.POSTPONED GAMESIf a game is postponed to a later week, all the picks for that game will be deleted by the website. The website will send an email notification to the people who picked that game and their pool managers. Whether they get the email or not, it is the responsibility of the individual pool member to know that the game was postponed and to enter a new pick (if necessary) before the pick deadline passes.DISPUTESIf there is ever a discrepancy between what the website shows and what the player says he/she entered, the website will be considered correct. If there is ever a discrepancy between what the website shows and a pick confirmation email, the website will be considered correct.POOL MANAGERThe pool manager's contact information can be found on the website under HELP>Contact Pool Manager
