XML ribbon refresh

Hi all.
Here's a curious issue.  On my DEV machine, my XML ribbon refreshes beautifully at run time, when opening an existing workbook or selecting File>New. All necessary add-in ribbon buttons get enabled/disabled, as required.
When I do a Release build, this refreshing doesn't happen on my TEST machine, unless I put ribbon.INVALIDATE() into my Workbook_Open and _Close add-in code.  An acceptable "hack".  However, the Workbook_Open event doesn't seem to get called for "File>New".  Can I trap this event in my add-in to ensure the ribbon refreshes properly?

THANKS!

Does anyone have any good references (or advice) about getting Claude Excel PlugIn to understand and use the features exposed by my ExcelDNA XLL?

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

you could simply create a documentation as PDF that describes each function in your add-in and then just let this document to be swallowed by Claude. The document could explain each function, its syntax and arguments. This should be enough in most cases.

Best regards,
Sergey

Thank you.

Additional guidance suggests there is a specific format that is best to use w claude.
Ive tried it, it works (though I can't say it works better than another format).

Anthropic provides official framework documentation for creating custom skills, and the developer community has heavily optimized templates to ensure Claude triggers them reliably. [1, 2, 3]

You can reference the Anthropic Claude Cookbook on Building Custom Skills for full context. [1]

The industry standard for registering your XLL formulas involves writing a specialized SKILL.md template. This template structures your custom code logic so that Claude can seamlessly discover and load it dynamically. [1, 2]
