Hi
At the moment I don't have a stremalined approach to install and upgrade the
Excel-Addin on a users machine.

Currently to upgrade I require the user to shutdown all excel instances
and then run a script (basic file copy).

I was wondering if there was a  programmatic way to:
1) install a new add-in whilst excel is running.
2) remove an existing version of an add-in while excel is running.

Many Thanks

Suki

User Ideally need to restart excel as unregistering xll and registering xll has caused crashes and as per my understanding it is not supported fully (but I may be wrong). What we used to do was, install addin in a new version subfolder and change registry key to point to that location and ask user to restart excel. Overwriting files is a problem as they could be locked. May need code changes if there are dependencies but it worked for us good.
