Hi,

I know this isnt specifically relevent to the ExcelDNA software, but
i was wondering does anyone know how to deploy the .xll through a
command line switch or similar command? As opposed to actually going
into excel and adding it in manually (of course).
Much appreciated.

Excel.exe c:\ExcelDna\ExcelDna.xll (or wherever your xll file is)
should do the trick.

Additionally you can ask Excel to open a number of files upon startup
simply by putting a space in between each file

E.g.

Excel.exe c:\ExcelDna\ExcelDna.xll c:\MyFolder\Sheet.xls

Hi Hayden. I didnt realise it was that obvious! Thanks for your help.
I now have a new issue however if you are interested...
When I try to add-in the xll with the command line, excel opens but it
will not add-in due to my code not having a digital signature. This is
probably because excel restricts addings due to harmful macros?
Anyway, the only way I know to get around this is to create a digital
signature with a pfx file. I have already done this the problem is
that when i try to compile in visual studio I get the error:
"Assemly generation failed -- Referenced assembly
'ExcelDna.Integration' does not have a strong name."
So in otherwords the ExcelDna reference itself does not have a digital
signature which is stopping my program from compiling with even though
mine has one.
Any ideas?

Ok,
I have managed to compile the code and I am using signtool.exe with
the visual studio comman prompt to sign my .xll (make it trusted).
Even though my xll is now signed Excel complains that it is not from a
trusted publisher, and doesnt let me go ahead with it.
Despite the fact that I have the "Require Application Addins to be
signed by Trusted publisher" tick box NOT TICKED.
There must be a bug in excels security that makes it over-vigilant.
Any ideas?
