Hi Govert,

(I am a BIG FAN of your work and a hithub sponsor)

I have an addin that has been stable using .net 6.0 for a couple of years.

After your release of 1.8.0 exceldna, witch has support for .net8.0, i am trying to upgrade to my project.

but i get this error message when the addin is loaded:
"Initialization [warning] Type Addin.Essentials.Ribbon could not be processed. Error: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Runtime, Version=8.0.0.0, ................................."

It seems like the addin is still trying being opened using .net 6.0, even with
<TargetFramework>net8.0-windows</TargetFramework>

I have tryed several things
  - instaling latest .net 8.0 sdk
  - clean nuget cash
  - set RowForward to Major
  - Clean the project ....

but the error persists....

Any kind of tip ?? what am i doing wrong ??

thanks,
Glayson

Hi Glayson,

Do you perhaps have a .dna file in your project directory?

If so,  the build would not generate one with the updated .NET version.

If that’s not it,  I’m wondering why you say

It seems like the addin is still trying being opened using .net 6.0”

Are you seeing a message or something indicating this?

Hi Govert,

As you mentioned, i had a .dna file on my project.
Exploring your comment, i realized that you have moved the properties i used to declare on the .dna file to the project file.

So i removed the .dna file and declared the properties into the project file.

And everything seems to me working.

thankyou very much!
