Unable to load addin

I have developed an add-in and it works on my machine, when I send this add-in to a colleague of mine, he is unable to load this add-in and first gets the message that the file format and extension of the add-in dont match, the file could be corrupted or unsafe.

The add-in then loads as a text file with unreadable code to excel sheet.

Any idea why this is happening ?

Please ignore this. My colleague was running a 32 bit excel and I was using 64. Sending across 32 bit solved the issue.
