Option 1 is to force the user to refresh (using Ctrl+F9, I think... the most aggressive way to do this is to search and replace "=" with "=" ... that will rewrite and re-evaluate all formulas).
Option 2 is to make these functions into RTD functions. These are "reconnected" when a workbook is reopened.
