Is it Possible to access an Excel RTD Server outside Excel?

Hi,

I have been using Excel-DNA for a long time to build Excel UDFs, Ribbon Add-ins and RTD Client.

I have a question: is it possible to access an RTD Server outside the Excel? more specifically, from a C# application.

please give any guide/hints for this purpose...

Hi Zeeshan,

The IRtdServer interface is just a standard COM interface, so in theory it would not be impossible. It won't work for RTD servers based on Excel-DNA since these depend on the Excel host to start up.

Do you mean a 3rd party RTD server, or your own add-in?

For you own code it should be easier just to refactor into a stand-alone library.
