Excel Addin XLL are not working in user Computer with Windows 11

Hello,

We have an issue using a Visual Studio XLL Project (with framework 4.8.1) using Excel DNA in Windows  11.

The UDF are not visible in the f(x) of Excel Functions.

With Windows 10 no issue seen.

I checked  the following Microsoft Article 

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/excel-is-blocking-untrusted-xll-add-ins-by-default-1e3752e2-1177-4444-a807-7b700266a6fb

but the users affected by this issue do not see in the xll properties the additional Security message : This file came from antoher computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer. 

Could you have a hint to find the reason the Excel Addin is not visible in Win11 ?

Hi, 

You can try the following. First check if the addin is disabled in the excel addins window. 

If it is not there - try double clicking the file. If it still does not show - make sure you have some kind of logging or some kind of messagebox shown in auto_open so the log is written / message is shown once it is loaded. 

You can try removing / unchecking addns if there could be some potential incompatibility with your addin.

Hello Kedar,

We have checked that the excel addin is active under Excel and this is the case.

We also implemented a exceldna Logging during the Auto_Open and when activating the addin in excel the message box is showing the 3 default button but the text box is showing no error message. 

Do you another hint to follow?
