Hey guys,

The past few weeks I've been busy setting up Icinga/Nagios at our company using Puppet and the Example42 modules. With the help of a couple of pull requests I'm glad to say that it worked like a charm. We decided to migrate away from Zabbix, because Zabbix looked like it's way harder to configure using Puppet (it used to cost us >1 hr to configure monitoring of 1 single box).

Anyhow, we've done our core network, but next up are serveral other networks. In order to configure our monitoring distributedly I was thinking of implementing NCSA, http://docs.icinga.org/latest/en/distributed.html . The part I was wondering about, is if anyone has already set this up using puppet, preferably using either example42/puppet-nagios or example42/puppet-icinga of course ;)

If not, I better get started on that PR... :D

Regards,

Dolf

A good NSCA module is welcomed.
Give a look to the post about nrpe refactiong also.

I think the Nagios and icinga modules need some clean up and mutual enhancement.
And they should decouple from nrpe or other plugins
