Dear Candidate,

Description of Responsibilities:

On-site in DE for a 2 - 4 week boot camp, then stationed offsite. Projects surround virtualization and migration away from Solaris, as well as some operational augmentation. Deep Solaris and RedHat skills. Work may include nights and weekend to support change requests which may be business-impactful. In the event of a bona fide Sev 1 production support issue, this resource may be asked to assist with relevant troubleshooting and resolution on a purely best efforts basis.


Skill Set:

1. Expert knowledge/experience in both of Solaris and Linux servers

2. Solid knowledge in application compatibility and migration from Solaris to Linux

3. Solid experience/practice in Solaris to Linux migration

4. Linux virtualization using VMWare 4.1

NOTES: Solaris Enterprise Server to Linux Intel Server Migration

a. Scope

i. Design and develop new RedHat Linux infrastructure frameworks

ii. Research applications compatibility between Solaris and RedHat Linux

iii. Build new Linux infrastructure and perform actual migration from Solaris Enterprise server


Must to have:

1. Veritas High availability Clusters

2. Veritas Volume Manager and File System experience

3. Net Backup for backup solutions

4. Sun One Messaging and LDAP

5. ISCSI and SAN experience

6. IPSEC Tunneling

7. PCI environment experience

8. Encryption over IPSEC

9. Power DNS

10. Strong Linux experience.
