75th Anniversary Celebration Launch

Dear YCS Former Members & Leaders,
Warm greetings and compliments from the International Secretariat of the International Young Catholic Students (IYCS) in the hope that this email finds you well.
Since the inception of the International Coordination of the YCS Movement in 1946 in the wake of the Second World War, Coordination Teams over the years strived to engage students to build peace based on justice and freedom. Different Leaders have witnessed our Movement evolve and grow to meet the challenges of the world and the local context in which it has been active.
This year 2021, we celebrate 75 years of the universality of our Movement, as Young Catholic Students accompanied by adult Animators, upholding our values and mission in the Church and students' milieu. We continue to journey united in the spirit of global solidarity while taking local actions for positive change and social transformation in our communities. The chosen theme: ‘Celebrating 75 years of Young Catholic Students formation, action and global solidarity towards building a peaceful, just, and a sustainable world’, aligns with the current two major global crisis; the health crisis and climate crisis, which urges us more than ever to come together in solidarity to save humanity and our mother earth ‘Our Common Home’ just as the Holy Father in his Encyclical Laudao Si invited every human on the plant to a communion with our mother earth.
The purpose of this communication, therefore is to request all former Members and Leaders of our YCS Movement at all levels to join us to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the IYCS by sharing your experiences from your leadership and life in the Movement in form of a short recorded video (2 mins maximum) that will be shared with the members, animators and YCS former members during the official launch scheduled to take place on Zoom on November 13, 2021. The IYCS fraternity further invites You all to join us during the launch, which will be held virtually.
