IDL OFFICERS GET-TOGETHER – A Day to Remember, A Bond to Cherish*
The IDL Officers Meet held on 25th January 2026* turned out to be a landmark event in our history. With *135 members participating*, it set an all-time record, a huge leap from the *45 members in 2025*. This overwhelming response shows how strong our bond has grown.
These get-togethers have been a cherished tradition for the *last 17 years*, thanks to the initiative taken by our seniors. Yet, often once the meet is over, we go silent. This time, let’s change that. Our group should stay active, vibrant, and connected throughout the year.
To strengthen our network, a *telephone directory of around 209 officers* has been prepared and circulated to all. This is a wonderful opportunity to reach out, talk freely, and share updates whenever time permits. Let’s come forward with good information, memories, and ideas that keep the spirit alive.
What makes our group special is the enthusiasm of our senior-most officers. Some have *crossed 80+* and still show keen interest in attending every get-together. We are truly blessed to have our *MD – Dr. E.G. Mahadevan, a renowned scientist, now 85+*, actively joining us and inspiring everyone.
Our group is not just about meetings. *Birthday greetings* keep smiles going round the year. We have also created a *sports group* for interested members to stay fit and have fun together. Above all, we remain a *well-disciplined and cooperative family*, with constant *encouragement and motivation flowing from our seniors*.
*Adding to the joy:*
- The laughter, group photos, and shared stories from the meet are still echoing in our chats.
- Many officers travelled from different cities just to be part of this day – that’s real commitment.
- The younger officers get to learn directly from the rich experience of seniors – a living library of IDL’s legacy.
- We’ve decided to have small Get-togethers catch-ups once in six months, so the tempo never drops.
- A shared photo & memory album is being created to preserve these golden moments.
Let’s keep this energy alive. Pick up the phone, wish a colleague, share a memory, plan a coffee. IDL is not just where we worked – it’s the family we built.
*Together, we are not counting years – we are making years count.*
Thank you,
