The Johns Hopkins University Center for Communication Programs Tanzania is looking to fill a research officer position based in Dar es Salaam. The position will be on the Tanzania Capacity and Communication Project (TCCP). A brief job description is included below.
 
Eligible candidates should hold a master’s or PhD, have strong quantitative methodology and analysis skills, and possess strong English writing skills. Experience managing large data collection projects is a plus.

JOB DESCRIPTION : RESEARCH OFFICER
·         Coordinate the design, implementation, analysis and reporting of TCCP’s surveys quantitative and qualitative findings in collaboration with headquarters RM&E staff.
·         Prepare an implementation/operational plan for project data collection, analysis, and reporting.
·         Develop and maintain the project reporting system and train staff and partners on reporting forms and procedures.
·         Develop work plans and budgets for project Research Monitoring & Evaluation activities.
·         Ensure the timely monitoring and reporting of all programs and activities in collaboration with other partners and government institutions.
·         Provide timely reporting of program activities to web based PEPFAR reporting systems (PROMIS)
·         Prepare documentation for and liaise with Institutional Review Boards (at JHU and National Institute of Medical Research, NIMR country) and monitor compliance with human subjects' research guidelines for all assigned research projects, as required.
·         Present RM&E findings during meetings, conferences and workshops.
·         Assist staff and partners in translating research findings into evidence-based programming.
·         Build capacity of staff and partners in communication research, monitoring and evaluation.
·         Collaboratively publish evaluation results and research findings in project documents, professional journals and CCP publications.
·         Participate in communication materials development, pretesting of communication concepts, pretesting of the developed materials, present findings and recommend on the final development
·         Periodic organization of monitoring questions for Omnibus surveys
