I am trying to use TeamViewer to remote into my Ubuntu-based server, so that I could manage it when I am away. The problem is, every time I try to remote into the server, I get this message displayed:

teamviewer remote control app download

Download Zip 🆗 https://t.co/H5tx7rGY2b

The problem with this is that I have to be present next to the server to be able to get rid of it and start the TeamViewer session. Is there a way to get rid of it for good, so that I could remote into the server without being next to it? Thanks in advance.I assume this is some stupid privacy or security thing, but I didn't find anything about it online.

With TeamViewer (Classic), it is possible to connect and remotely support Android devices from another mobile device. Below, we'll explain how to connect and remotely control an Android device with confirmation (attended access).

On the remote Android device (the device receiving the connection), you must download and install the TeamViewer QuickSupport app and allow the app to Display over other apps in your Android Settings.

I configured her work pc according to the help article (removed personal passwords, granted easy access, checked connection is set to full access, connecting the computer to a teamviewer account) and then setup my computer to test the connection (also logging in with the teamviewer account, checking connection settings, etc) and the remote control still requests a confirmation on the work pc.

Finally installed a remote app (TeamViewer) for my setup. With the app I can control the working on site computer (WIndows PC) from my Mac or my iphone...I know a lot of you probably have a similar setup but for those of you who dont ..this is a PSA for you. Teamviewer is free and very easy to setup

TeamViewer is great, no doubt about it. However, I was using TeamViewer and I still have it as a backup, but I have switched to TightVNC. If TV is working well for you, then obviously no reason for you to switch, but it was too much of a resource drain for my 32-bit ATOM-based stick PC. Since I switched to TightVNC, my stick PC is much more responsive when being controlled remotely. But TV is certainly a good and easy place to start.

If you can create a VPN to your remote observatory than do that. Once you have a VPN, you can use any of the following - Microsoft RDP (you need to have Windows PRO for invoking the server, not for the client. If you have a Mac at home, MS has a client for OS X, so you are covered there as well. Same for Linux, most Linux distros have a remote desktop client that will work with RDP). If that does not work, TightVNC is also very good. If you feel you want to get a seamless remote connection app, try AnyDesk. I use that as my backup and it works fine. If you can't create a VPN to your remote observatory network, then you may have to open up some ports on the remote computer (that will mean you will need access to the remote observatory router - unless you are in a shared observatory, that should not be a problem - even for shared observatories, I am sure someone must have thought about opening ports).

Teamviewer requires both computers to be connected to the internet and the vpn tunnel between systems goes through there to the teamviewer session site. With two inbound and two outbound connections you are probably adding a lot of latency to your connections as well. Just be aware of this if this is the route you choose to go.

This isn't true, strictly speaking. I use TV on a local network when I'm out in the field and don't have internet access. My NUC mount computer creates an ad-hoc network that I connect my phone or tablet to and use TV to remote into the NUC. I just need to know the IP address of the NUC.

I was hoping there was a way to avoid internet. Not because of remote site use, I am strictly a home site imager, but we have a rather limited internet speed and a brother in law that is retired(from nothing) that does nothing but stream his "entertainment" so I can't count on a decent speed for myself.

This person will then have the option to remote control the presenters device or selected application until another person is assigned control or the presenter stops allow control for the participant.

On the remote Android device (the device receiving the connection), you must download and install the TeamViewer Host app and allow the app to display over other apps.

TeamViewer offers easy, quick and secure remote access to devices running Windows, Mac or Linux, making it possible for you to access all of your documents and installed apps just as if you were in front of your very own computer.

One thing that annoys me about Teamviewer: as soon as you open the window on the desktop application (in both Windows and Ubuntu) to the 'Remote Control' tab, your ID and Password for remote control are prominently displayed.

Ok so my daughter might be on the computer and I need to grab a file while I'm at work away from the computer. I cant seem to figure out where a setting might be that lets me control the computer while I am away from it, while locking out my daughter so she has to wait till I am done with the computer. She likes to close out of the program I am trying to get to while I am on. (she's playing roblox and doesn't want to wait 1 minute ) Example, disabling her (the home main computer) mouse while i am using it. Anythought would be great! I did a bunch of searching nothing seem to be asked like this or I couldn't find the right wording! Cheers David

TeamViewer (Classic) is capable of both viewing the screen and remotely controlling a range of Android devices. However, we, unfortunately, are not able to support all manufacturers or ROM's for these features, especially remote control.

This universal add-on will allow you to remote control Android devices that didn't have any dedicated add-on available. Therefore, the universal add-on won't be available for devices of already supported manufacturers.

Strange issue. When I connect to a remote Win8 laptop, I can close the side TeamViewer window and minimize the top TeamViewer bar, but I cannot do anything else on the computer. I have no control of open windows, my curser seems useless. Can anyone suggest a solution to this? We both have TeamViewer V12

- Apple Icon top left of screen -> System Preferences -> Security and Privacy-> Privacy Tab
- click on the lock and enter your password, to unlock the system so you can change settings
- Under "Allow apps below to control my computer" make sure "TeamViewer_Desktop" is listed AND checked.
- Under "Allow apps below to control my computer" make sure "TeamViewer" is listed AND checked.

my computer had them listed but they were not enabled. Once i checked the boxes on both entries i could type and use the mouse.

Recently there must have been an update because since yesterday the remote control started behaving strangely. Today however, I had to consent on my smartphone to new terms and conditions, and the connection was normalized. But now several apps stopped working properly in remote control, they are actually opened on my smartphone but on my laptop I just see a black screen. It is only with banking or payment apps that I get this, so I suppose it's some sort of security update that prevents the remote usage of this kind of apps. Is this indeed the case?

Whatever the cause, for me this is a problem as I really want to use these apps and I am not able to use a touchscreen and operate my smartphone directly. I know there is allways a small security risk, but for me it is perhaps more important that I'm able to use these apps.
So my question is if it is possible to circumvent this new blockage in a way and keep using all sorts of apps in remote control?
